Victory Is Born Out of Persistence: India’s Ice Queens Rise in Pocket FM’s Sound of Courage
Pocket FM honours Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team’s historic Asia Cup bronze with inspiring brand film under ‘India, Kuch Acha Suno’ campaign

August 12, 2025 | India — In a world overflowing with noise and distractions, Pocket FM — the world’s largest audio series platform — is turning the spotlight on stories that inspire. The latest chapter in its much-loved India, Kuch Acha Suno campaign honours the extraordinary journey of India’s Women’s Ice Hockey Team, who defied all odds to claim a historic bronze medal at the IIHF Asia Cup.
From frozen lakes in Ladakh to the international podium, their story is a testament to grit, belief, and breaking barriers. Facing family opposition, societal stereotypes, and even ridicule for playing a “men’s sport,” each player carved her own path — refusing to give up despite scarce resources and extreme conditions. Often training in borrowed men’s gear, their journey now comes alive in Sound of Courage, a moving brand film set against Ladakh’s breathtaking yet unforgiving landscape.
“Victory is born out of persistence,” said Tsewang Chuskit, Captain of the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team. “Our journey was filled with doubt back home, but we chose to listen to our inner voice. Sound of Courage reflects our truth — a reminder that trusting yourself can change everything.”
Harjinder Singh ‘Jindi’, General Secretary of the Ice Hockey Association of India and Member of the IIHF Asia Committee, added:
“This medal is more than a win — it’s a statement. Against all odds, we broke barriers, proved that passion knows no boundaries, and turned every challenge into a stepping stone. We are more than a team — we are a movement.”
Vineet Singh, SVP & Head of Brand Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships at Pocket FM, shared:
“In a world filled with noise, we want to highlight stories that uplift. Sound of Courage is not just a film — it’s a tribute to those who dare to defy the odds and to the unheard voices that deserve to be celebrated.”
Padma Shri recipient Morup Namgyal lends his voice to the film, which goes beyond ice hockey to honour every Indian woman — mothers, daughters, and sisters — who have broken barriers with silent strength.
The film features real team members including Tsewang Chuskit, Sonam Angmo, Sonam Angmo (Kanji), Skarma Rinchen, Rinchen Dolma, Sherap Zangmo, Padma Chorol, Rigzin Yangdol, Dechen Dolker, and Diskit C Angmo.
Conceptualised and produced by Pocket Entertainment’s in-house creative team in collaboration with Black And White Films, Sound of Courage continues the India, Kuch Acha Suno mission — amplifying real stories of hope, pride, and purpose.
