Rotary Club Shillong Heritage Inaugurates New Toilet Facilities at Umsohsun Convenience Hall

Shillong, May 24, 2025 — In a significant step toward improving community infrastructure, the Rotary Club Shillong Heritage successfully completed the construction of male and female toilet facilities at the Convenience Hall in Umsohsun. The project was officially handed over to the Dorbar Shnong Umsohsun in a ceremony marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The event, held under the leadership of Club President Rtn. Vikash Chokhani, witnessed the presence of 12 Rotary members and community representatives. The Dorbar Shnong was represented by Headman Shri T. Dhkar, Assistant Headmen Shri M. Swer and Shri L. Kharbhih, and Secretary Shri P. Warjri.
In her address, Rtn. Kaveri highlighted several community-focused initiatives led by the Rotary Club Shillong Heritage and expressed gratitude to the Dorbar for their collaboration. President Rtn. Chokhani thanked the Dorbar for their support and gave special recognition to Rtn. Gideon and Rtn. Sandeep for their key roles in ensuring the project’s timely completion.
He also emphasized the importance of regular maintenance, urging the Dorbar to keep the facilities clean and functional for public use.
As a token of goodwill, the club donated seven Rotary-branded umbrellas to the Dorbar.
The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the MoU, solidifying the partnership between Rotary Club Shillong Heritage and the Umsohsun community.
