ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF INAUGURATION OF SELA TUNNEL BY HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER

In past one year the tunnel has provided unhindered movement of tourists, locals and army convoys

Sela Tunnel, the highest bi lane tunnel of India, at 13000 ft, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 09th March 2023. The tunnel was physically visited by hon’ble minister Shri Kiran Rijiju and conveyed his compliments to entire team for an extraordinary achievement.

In past one year the tunnel has provided unhindered movement of tourists, locals and army convoys. The tunnel has reduced time, distance and in turn reducing cost of transportation in forward areas and Tawang. It has bolstered socio economic status of entire area.

The increased in flux of tourists, rapid increase in infrastructure including hotels in Tawang region is a testimony to this.

In the past one year the tunnel has received many awards including a mention in the world book of records, ASSOCHAM award, Build Infra Award and a Gold Medal awarded to Project Vartak by the Governor of Arunanchal Pradesh.
