GOC Spear Corps, visits Forward Areas of Dibang Valley

General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, visited Anini and forward air-maintained posts of Dao Division in the Dibang Valley to review operational preparedness, logistics sustenance and troop morale in the challenging high-altitude terrain of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

During the visit, the Corps Commander witnessed the on-ground validation of the Kill Box and Ashni Platoon—specialised combat teams demonstrating integrated hard kill and soft kill responses against hostile drone threats. The exercise showcased the Indian Army’s growing capability in counter-drone warfare, blending technology with tactical acumen to enhance battlefield resilience.

GOC interacted with the troops, commended their professionalism and dedication in extreme climatic and terrain conditions and emphasised the importance of technological adaptation in modern warfare. He reiterated the Indian Army’s commitment to operational readiness and the continual evolution of combat tactics to meet emerging security challenges along the Eastern frontier.
