Ferdinand A. Dkhar, Assistant Director of Akashvani, Shillong, paid a courtesy call to the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, C.H. Vijayashankar, at Raj Bhavan today. During the meeting, Dkhar extended an invitation to the Governor to be the Chief Guest at the event of Prasar Bharati, Directorate General, Akashvani – A 3 Day Workshop on the “Impact Assessment and Capacity Building” for Akashvani Kisanvani & DD / DD Kisan Programme Producers of Eastern and North Eastern Region from the 12th to 14th November 2024 an upcoming Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) program focusing on the North Eastern region.
Shri Dkhar briefed the Hon’ble Governor on the significance of the program, which aims to highlight the agricultural diversity, development initiatives, and regional contributions of the Northeast to the nation. The Governor expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Akashvani and DDK in promoting the rich heritage and potential of the region through their broadcasts.
The Hon’ble Governor welcomed the invitation and conveyed his support for initiatives that foster unity and integration among the Northeastern states and the rest of the country. He further commended the role of public broadcasters like Akashvani and DDK in connecting the people of India through informative and meaningful programming.
