On 11 July 2025, acting on specific input from the Intelligence Branch of BSF, Meghalaya Police successfully foiled an exfiltration attempt by Bangladeshi nationals.
The operational team intercepted the target vehicle at the Mawlai bypass in Shillong and subsequent verification revealed that two Bangladeshi nationals were being facilitated by two Indian touts in an attempt to illegally cross over to Bangladesh. All four individuals were detained for interrogation and further legal proceedings.
