BSF Meghalaya Foils Smuggling Attempt, Intercepts Vehicle Carrying Oranges Near IB.
In a swift operation, troops of the 04 Bn BSF Meghalaya, successfully foiled a smuggling attempt and intercepted a Bolero pickup carrying a large quantity of oranges along the Dawki-Lyngkhat Road near the I B on January 29, 2025.
Acting on inputs, BSF personnel laid a ambush in the suspected area. During the operation, a Bolero pickup was flagged down, and upon inspection, it was found to be loaded with oranges intended for illegal cross-border transportation. The driver, an Indian national, failed to produce any valid documents justifying the transport and was apprehended from East Khasi Hills district.
The seized vehicle and the detained individual were handed over to the custom office Pynursla for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
This operation highlights the BSF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s borders and preventing illegal activities along the frontier.
