27 Meghalaya Women Kickboxers Arrive in Siliguri for Khelo India Asmita League 2025–26

A 27-member women’s contingent from the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association has reached Siliguri, West Bengal, to participate in the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing League 2025-26, scheduled from February 26 to March 1, 2026.

The team is led by two international kickboxers serving as coaches — Nathaniel P Kurkalang of Mylliem Mawrie and Ibadarishisha Mukhim of Lower Lumparing Lumdorbar.
Among the prominent athletes representing Meghalaya are international women kickboxers Daniella I Wanda Mylliemngap, Medariphyla Lyngdoh Nongbri, and Belldona Pakyntein. The squad also includes talented fighters from East Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, and West Jaintia Hills.
Prior to departure, the athletes were accorded a warm send-off at a tea party hosted by City Hut Dhaba. Expressing confidence, the team members said they are determined to bring home the maximum number of medals — aiming to surpass their performance at the Indian Open International Kickboxing Tournament held on February 4, 2026.
The Siliguri tournament will see athletes from 11 eastern states competing on a single platform to qualify for the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Women’s National League 2025-26, which is scheduled to be held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from March 26 to 29, 2026.
Officials and supporters are hopeful that Meghalaya’s women kickboxers will once again make the state proud with an outstanding performance on the national stage.
